Grade II C18th Stone Balustrade with Flint & Stone Chequerwork

Condition & Survey:

  • Open joints to balustrade.
  • Decay to flint & stone chequered panels caused by the penetration of ivy roots and frost damage.

Schedule of Repairs:

  • Removal of ivy, moss and other organic matter
  • Replace localised decayed stone using a matching stone bedded in lime mortar
  • Replace lost flint using matching flints on a like-for-like basis laid in lime mortar
  • Repoint open joints using a matching lime mortar
